BEST group's client has an immediate need for someone to serve as the organizations' primary web technology director with responsibility for the strategic technology architecture planning, management, implementation and integration of the firms' internal and external web systems infrastructure as well systems integration interfaces with other business systems associated hardware, software and security.

This role has responsibility for 3 primary functions. A) Web Systems Infrastructure Administration and Web Application Development; B) Systems Integration and Database Administration of internal business, membership and broadcast support systems; and related internal consulting. C) New multi-media technology evaluation, implementation and management.

The position operates in a matrixes fashion with engineering and other staff to provide technical project management, vendor and contractor interface and oversight, and organizational support for departmental systems. Also provides customer support to those areas as needed.

Major Duties

a) Web Systems infrastructure Administration and Application Development.

• Responsible for implementation, management and maintainance of web and application servers (IIS,.NET, Apache, PHP.Tomcat, Coldfusion, etc., database servers, streaming media servers and other systems infrastructure support services.
• Manages the development and performance of web staff members and contractors both directly and indirectly matrixed within the organization for the technical management of Internet and Intranet websites and implementation of internal and community web projects.
• Monitors, researches and benchmarks industry trends, technologies, and standards; recommends appropriate new technologies as they emerge, oversees the implementation those technologies to meet existing needs and advance organizational objectives.

• Responsible for supporting all systems integration infrastructure, design, architecture, implementation, management and maintenance of office, production and broadcast application servers and other infrastructure systems (NT, WIN2k, Unix, Linux, etc). Works closely with functional departmental customers to ensure satisfaction of customer requirements.
• Manages the identification and implementation of business processes and information access requirements for both internal and external users including application integration of membership databases, programming traffic data, course registration systems, and digital asset management systems, etc.
• Responsible for implementation, management and maintenance of enterprise storage systems including online and near line storage, file servers, document management, digital asset management, streaming media and audio / video on demand systems in support of all departmental systems infrastructure requirements

• Monitor, research and benchmark industry trends, technologies and standards; recommends appropriate new technologies as they emerge; and helps to oversee the implementation of those technologies to meet existing and future needs and to advance organizational objectives.
• Responsible for managing the organizational interface, requirements specification, selection, implementation and monitoring of complex vendor supplied and internally developed systems, software and components.

KNOWLEDGE

• Substantial working knowledge of and familiarity with web applications development and integration technologies and methodologies including web server software, application development tools (including XML, MS.ASP,.NET,.CFM. open source LAMP, PHP Javascript, JSP, Perl, Flash, etc) multimedia and streaming media software (MS REAL, Quicktime, open source, etc, digital asset management, content workflow; search engines, auction and ecommerce applications. Understanding of internet and intranet security issues such as firewall, RAS, server, SSL encryption, application and user level authentication.
• Substantial working knowledge of and familiarity with systems administration and integration technologies and methodologies, both hardware and software, including multiple systems infrastructure administration and server technologies both hardware and software, including operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux) Database Administration, (SQL, Oracle, Progress, MYSQL, etc) enterprise messaging (MS-Exchange/ other),etc.
• Substantial working knowledge of network design, architecture, implementation and maintenance of office, production, broadcast networks, telecommunications and other infrastructure systems.

• Significant systems integration and web application development experience.
• Significant server and database systems administration experience preferred
• Significant network infrastructure experience preferred
• Significant project management or consulting experience preferred.

• Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to plan and execute complex projects, significant experience and acumen managing project budgets and budget planning.
• An anticipatory, flexible creative approach to problem solving. A service mentality and acceptance of support of a 24x7x365 operation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field plus 5 years plus of related experience including at least 3 years of successful supervision of major web applications development or enterprise portal project. Certifications such as MCSE/A, CCNA, DBA, COMP TIA, SANS or other certifications desirable.

BEST Group's Cleveland client is adding a SHAREPOINT Webmaster who will develop and maintain the company's Internet presence and intranet portal.

The position ensures user accessibility to the sites and provides site traffic monitoring to make certain that site capacity meets traffic demand. This role is responsible for designing, enforcing and preserving look and feel standards and site navigation for company web sites. Additionally is responsible for all site collaboration tools and standards.

Skills required: Expert level skills in web design using MS Front Page, SharePoint Services and Portal Server , JavaScript, HTML, JavaScript, VBScript. Expert level experience with TCP/IP, DHCP and DNS. Experience with Network Administration to include Active Directory and Group Policy. Strong communication skills, good data gathering skills, walk on water, leap tall buildings with a single bound, be faster than a speeding bullet and always tell the truth.
