The Cleveland Indians continue their pioneering efforts re sustainability (solar panels, recycling, etc.) with the installation of a wind turbine at Progressive Field. The wind turbine is located on the south-east corner of the ballpark.

Cleveland Indians and Social Media
The Cleveland Indians have been involved in social media (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc) for years and are expanding their efforts to engage with fans on different platforms such as Google+, Pinterest, Tumblr and a new behind-the scenes blog called Tribe Vibe.

Anne Keegan, Assistant Director of Communications for the Cleveland Indians, tells the Geek about these new efforts.

The Great Lakes Go Global

Most cities in the Great Lakes Region share a lot of the same problems and opportunities. It follows that we are also all looking for solutions to these problems. While some issues can be addressed regionally throughout the Great Lakes (water issues for example) the cities are competing with each other and the rest of the country and world to solve our problems.

For example, many Great Lakes cities have dwindling populations, high unemployment and a rust belt perception. One of the ways that cities have been able to increase population, job creation and vitality is by attracting immigrants.
